Precision starts with the fit.

Find your fit in the genuine Ducati helmet range. Measure your head, identify the helmet manufacturer, and check the matching size before you order.

Measure first. Choose second.

01

Grab a soft tape

Use a flexible measuring tape, or string measured against a ruler. Record your head circumference in centimetres.

02

Find the widest point

Keep the tape level above your eyebrows and ears, around the fullest part of the back of your head. Follow your chosen brand’s tape-placement instructions. Keep it snug without pulling it tight.

03

Measure again

Repeat to confirm your measurement. Use the largest consistent reading and compare it with the chart for the exact brand and model.

Your old helmet size is only a clue. The same size label can fit differently between brands and models. Head shape matters too. A size chart gives you a starting point; trying the helmet on confirms the fit.

Genuine Ducati helmet size chart

Ducati helmets are made by specialist helmet manufacturers. The Ducati name on the outside does not mean every model uses the same sizing. Check the manufacturer in the product description, then use its column below.

AGV: check MS and ML

Some Ducati helmets made by AGV split medium into MS (57 cm) and ML (58 cm). Check the size options on your product listing. If it only shows M, contact us to confirm rather than assuming which version it means.

Match the model, not your old size

Manufacturer charts differ. For example, this guide lists Arai XS at 53–54 cm and Nolan XS at 55 cm. Check your measurement again whenever you change helmet models.

Check the fit before you ride

Try the helmet indoors for around 15 minutes, following the manufacturer’s fitting instructions. Wear the glasses you normally ride with and fasten the chin strap correctly.

A secure, comfortable fit

  • Firm, even contact around your head without painful spots.
  • Your skin moves with the helmet when you gently move it side to side.
  • On helmets with cheek pads, the pads make firm contact with your cheeks.
  • The helmet stays in position and your vision remains clear.

Pause and ask for help if…

  • The helmet slides or rotates independently of your head.
  • You feel a focused pressure point on your forehead or temples.
  • You experience pain, numbness or a headache.
  • The helmet rolls forward over your eyes or feels insecure with the strap fastened.
Snug should not mean painful. Comfort padding can settle with use, but don’t rely on a painful helmet becoming suitable. Don’t size up automatically to fix one pressure point: a different model or head shape may be the better solution.

Common sizing questions

What if I’m between sizes?

Follow the advice for your exact helmet model and try both sizes where possible. Tell us your measurement and the helmet you are considering so we can help. Avoid guessing from a general “size up” or “size down” rule.

Can different cheek pads fix the fit?

Some models accept manufacturer-approved replacement cheek pads or liners. These may fine-tune fit when the helmet is already the correct size and shape. Ask us to check compatibility. Never cut, compress or modify the protective liner or shell.

Can I exchange a helmet that doesn’t fit?

Read our current returns policy before ordering. If the fit feels wrong when it arrives, contact us before riding in it or making changes. Our team can explain the options for your order.

Still unsure? Ask Joe Rascal.

Send us your head measurement in centimetres, the brand and model you’re considering, and where your current helmet feels tight or loose. Or visit our Joe Rascal Ducati team for help checking the fit.
